About Carl Anderson Lindstrom

A longtime Lindstrom, Minnesota resident, Carl Anderson led Sunrise Precision Machine for 14 years until selling the company in 2020. With a focus on micro-machining innovation, Carl Anderson developed processes in Lindstrom that extended the state of the art. Leading the company, he undertook high-precision projects for clients in industries such as defense, computers, aerospace, and medical devices. Mr. Anderson developed a mechanical aptitude early in life, through growing up on a farm where implements were constantly in need of repair. His father, a science teacher, taught him basic engineering and mechanics, and he moved on to manual mills and engine lathes in high school metal shop class. He continued on this path in college, pursuing a degree in CNC machining tool and die at St. Paul College. Another passion for Mr. Anderson since childhood has been cars, and his father was a small plane pilot and automotive enthusiast. As a teen, he built a 1979 Ford custom pickup and customized and engineered a fly wheel and clutch pack, as Ford didn’t offer a 460 motor with a four-speed manual transmission in that model year.
